In partnership with the Scratch Foundation
As a member of the Scratch Education Collaborative, Cohort 3, we received funding from Scratch Foundation. This mobile initiative brings inclusive STEAM experiences directly to Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) institutions. Designed specifically for neurodiverse learners, this programme focuses on breaking barriers in tech education by introducing learners to Coding and Robotics in a sensory-aware and learner-paced format.
Key Features:
- Interactive workshops using Scratch, Code.org, LEGO robotics, and Makeblock tools.
- Hands-on activities that emphasize cause-effect thinking, pattern recognition, and creative expression.
- Supportive environments tailored to individual learners’ needs (visual aids, sensory materials, adaptive tech)
- Donations of equipment (robotics kits, tablets, and more) to schools so they can continue independently, as well as donation of T-shirts, stickers and swag items to the participants.
- On-site educator training to ensure sustainability and ongoing learner support
Impact
- Builds confidence and curiosity in learners who may otherwise lack access to STEAM
- Fosters inclusion, peer collaboration, and digital fluency
- Leaves lasting infrastructure through resource donations and training
